problems running windows app certification kit

I am trying to run the windows app cert kit and following the steps found online and never get past step 2.  The Kit never finds any applications installed?  Any suggestions on how to get the Kit to recognize the applications?

Instructions

          Validate your Windows Store app by using the Windows App Certification Kit interactively        

1.                   From theStart menu, search Apps, find Windows Kits, and clickWindows App Cert Kit.                

2.               From the Windows App Certification Kit, selectValidate a Windows Store app.            

                 The Windows App Certification Kit lists all the Windows Store apps that you have deployed on your computer.
